Fashion Patternmaking Techniques: Haute Couture

Volume 2: Creative Darts, Draping, Frills and Flounces, Collars, Necklines and Sleeves, Trousers and Skirts

High fashion unquestionably goes hand-in-hand with sarto- rial and stylistic perfection. A driving force behind the entire fashion and garment industry, it represents the search for new solutions concerning fabrics, style or patterns. In this context, the patternmaker is an essential figure who makes the stylist's ideas a reality. In this richly illustrated new volume from the Fashion Patternmaking series, the prolific author Antonio Donnanno describes the methods and techniques used in high-fashion for making drapes, frills and flounces, collars, necklines and sleeves, and trousers and skirts, in a detailed, understandable and step-by-step way. This publication completes the series in high-fashion patternmaking, which started with volume 1 and which focused on draping techniques and decorations.

About the Author

In 1982, he founded the acknowledged Euromode School Italia in Bergamo, which soon expanded with new branches on the international stage and where, alongside his teaching duties, Donnanno also serves as director. Donnanno has written dozens of books about fashion and has his own consulting firm, focusing on patternmaking and business. As a consultant, illustrator and stylist for different fashion companies.
